Hi do you know a place named Kathmandu? Well you know even I never visited this place. I recently came to know about it in my English book. When I read the lesson in my book I wanted to share my views with everyone.

Kathmandu is located in Nepal. Kathmandu also spelled katmandu or kantipur, capital of Nepal. It lies in a hilly region near the confluence of the Baghmati and vishnumati rivers, at an elevation of 4,344 feet ( 1,324 meters) above sea level. It was founded in 723 by Raja Gunakamadeva.

Six things that are very famous in Kathmandu

  1. Gold jewelry

2) Religious monuments and temples ( from INR 3,499)

3) Momos

4) Capital of Nepal

5) Durbar square

6) Tourism

Kathmandu is particularly famous for its religious monuments. Various temples, monasteries, and stupas adorn the city’s landscape, particularly the Pashupatinath Temple and the Changu Narayan which are famous for their stunning, intricate religious artworks.

Kathmandu served as the seat of the ruling Shah family of the Gurkha people from 1768 to 2008. ... The city has become the country’s most important business and commercial centre through the efforts of its Newar merchant families.

The Licchavi kings of the 4th-9th centuries established the valley’s most ancient sacred sites, both Hindu and Buddhist, but it was the Malla kings of the 13th-18th centuries who created its extraordinary built environment.

I wish I could visit Kathmandu once in my life.
